New Japan-Australia tax treaty will be applicable from January 1 2009

The new Japan-Australia tax treaty which came into force on December 3 2008 will be applicable to royalty remittances to our Australian proprietors starting January 1 2009.

Program licensing department established

Tuttle-Mori has established an in-house Program Licensing Department to handle television, film and video rights. The department's high profile client list includes Britain's Channel Four International and National Geographic Television International for whom Tuttle-Mori will handle Japanese sales on an exclusive basis.

Increasing demand for Japanese titles in Asia

Tuttle-Mori's rights sales to Korean, Thai, and Chinese markets continue apace. More than 100 Asian offers have been received in September alone, indicating the strong interest that Asian publishers have for Japanese works.

BAFTA winning mini-series Sex Traffic to be premiered by Wowow

Leading pay-TV channel Wowow has acquired Channel 4 International's mini-series Sex Traffic through Channel 4 agent and Tuttle-Mori subsidiary, TM International. Voted "best serial of year" by Broadcast magazine and BAFTA winner for "Best Actress" and "Best Serial Drama", the hard hitting drama will air on both the analog and digital Wowow channels in the new year followed by a release on DVD.
